Colin the proprietor of The Finishing Touch motorcycle paintwork specialist, has over 40 years’ experience working in the car and classic motorcycle paintwork refurbishing trade, having restored many motorcycles including Rudge, Bourgh Superiors SS100, Vincent’s and many classic Japanese machines.
Examples of our high-quality work have graced numerous concourse-winning machine during the past years and have achieved many accolades including the 2005 classic bike of the year award winner a Norton dominator and was runner up in 2010 with a BSA Shooting Star. The Finishing Touch has had many of our finished bikes featured in motorcycle magazine articles including (front cover and centre page spread of classic motorcycle magazine with a 1915 Indian BV Twin).
The Finishing Touch receives and welcomes motorcycle paintwork business from all over the world including North America, Europe, and Australia.

What can we do?
Tank repairs, motorcycle paintwork, sandblasting, chroming, spray painting, colour matching, lining, and transfer fixing.
All parts are blasted back to bare metal to remove old paint and rust, any necessary repairs are then carried out (rust, dents, pitting etc), all parts are acid etch primed then grey primed, painted, lacquered, and hand finished.
Colour matching
We can get all colours matched to your original motorcycle paintwork, and we carry many original colours in stock for vintage to modern motorcycle.
Transfer Fixing
The Finishing Touch is pleased to recommend Classic Transfers for both water slide and vinyl transfers.
Paint Lining
Hand paint lining (pin lining) of petrol and oil tanks mudguards/wheels etc… we have 100’s of original templates for the correct location of pin lining and transfers.
